Merk just announced the results of a new vaccine that apparently prevents the virus that causes cervical cancer. It's 100% effective in preventing the virus.
HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer and 50% of sexually active adults are exposed to this virus.
This is wonderful news!
The vaccine is not effective if you've already been exposed to the virus but this may become something given to children just like chicken pox vaccines.
