As long as you keep a calorie deficit you should cut fat anyways thats the basic principle, take in less than you put out. Find your BMR then add in cardio and lifting cals burned and then subtract either 600 or 1200 from that number to get how much you should eat a day. 1200 for 2 lbs a week and 600 for 1lb a week, yes i rounded the calories.
