Literally. Caps are convenient, but like Yung said, you're only getting 1 gram of flax per cap (usually) compared that to 14 grams per tablespoon. The oil is alot cheaper too, gram per gram.
I do take fish oil caps though, 8 per day. No way I'm swallowing fish oil, lol.
