I believe it binds to the same receptor sites that DHT does. This would then effect the prostate also. I take Prostate Support from NOW. It also has pygium, african bark (or something like that), pumpkin seed and some other stuff (don't have the bottle in front of me).
These all aid in making the SP more potent, just like caffeine and aspirin make ephedra more effective.
Since I have started taking it (about 2 years ago) my hair STOPPED falling out. Other than that, I don't know what it is doing.
