Limiting your carbs in the evening is a goosd idea but it doesn't need to be black and white. I like to eat most of my balanced meals before 1900 (7pm) and no carbs whatsoever after 2230 (1030pm) just in case I have a healthy snack of sorts since your body is already on it's way to shutting down for sleep (reverse if you are a vampire). My schedule varies daily and I make sure that I have my body on some kind of time routine (the body enjoys that, it knows when to shut stuff off and rev stuff up...lol) The body can still use carbs in the late afternoon and night. Hell, you may already know all of this and if so, sorry to patronize.
Any rate, no real reason to simply make it the first 3 meals but to each their own and if you have a good reason then maybe it should be looked at. Just my .02.
