Exactly. My new job is with a very large corporation and they did not do a background check on me. They didn't even get my SS# until the second day I worked there.
Don't sell yourself short, Opi. If you want something you need to go after it like it is already yours and someone else is trying to steal it. I suspect you are probably a little down on yourself with all the problems with the girl but you need to quit feel sorry for yourself, make a plan and then execute the plan without the thought of failure.
