My anabolic diet "journal" week one
For anyone who wants to see a guinea pig go through this diet (similar to SYL's carnivore diet) can take a look and see a week by week blow on how I have reacted to this form of fat/weight reduction and how it has effected me so far.
Initial stats: 3/5/07
weight:272.5lbs
bf%:17.5 (caliper 6pt measurement)
lean mass: approx 224lbs
fat mass: approx 48lbs
waist measurement: 43.25"
Stats 3/12/07
weight: 269 lbs
bf%:16.3
lean mass: approx 224.25lbs
fat mass: approx 44.5lbs
waist measurement: 42"
Most of the weight loss so far I can probably attribute to water loss as true fat loss will probably occur some time the middle of this week or so. No lethargy and I am still in a mild state of ketosis; I can't say I have any diet jitters or anything like that-I feel totally fine without carbs-it's just the mind that craves them, not the body. Training was moderate last week as I was afraid of burning out. That fear is gone and this week I plan to shift training up a notch and add a longer cardio session than just 30 minutes (45 min 5x week). I must add that my calories have been kept up to avoid too much of a shock to my body from going from heavy carb/calorie eating to lo/no carbs and high protein (3500-4000cals/ 55%pro/45%fats/trace carbs-10g). Therefore, I anticipate a greater weight/fat loss this week although I will continue to maintain calories for now. I suspect the first week would have really been more dramatic had I followed SYL's version to a tee with caloric intake closer to my BMI. I'll get there, just takin' my time with this. If anyone wishes to critique, please feel free-I'm here to learn. Until next week,
Peace out
