Attention to abnormal replies in people's introduction threads........
During the last year, there have been ongoing posts in threads that seem abnormal and just don't seem like the replies belong in those threads. The posts for the most part is pretty obvious, but occasionally, they can be fairly well disguised while offering links. The most obvious aspect of spamming in member introduction threads will be links to another site that doesn't seem to be related to the topics of a fitness board such as this. For the well-being of your computer's health, please do not click on these links from posters that seem to only have one or two posts offering links. These links most often will take you to a site that will require you to download an ActiveX control so you can view porn for instance. Clicking yes just because you are horny will mean alot of computer downtime since the ActiveX controls or add-on's are nothing more than a virus or a nasty trojan that will take over your computer (so this will mean you are going to need a very good imagination and lots of Jergen lotion while your computer is busted up). Also, you had better hope that these nasty bugs don't take over your BIOSROM because if that happens, you will pretty much need to buy a new computer. The BIOS can be the easiest thing to clean for a professional,. but for the computer Geeks at Best Buy? Fuggedaboutit.
If you see a suspicious post, please PM someone about it or just report the reply or post as a suspicious post so it can be cleaned and the spammer can be banned ASAP.
Thank you for reading this,
iSteroids staff.
PS: This occurrence doesn't just happen here. These malicious posts are happening all across the fitness boards and related websites to entice people to click the spam. I noticed this happening a year ago at another board, but it was happening in their chat forum, while here it seems to be restricted to the member introductions for now.
