All X is saying is that when your on a low carb diet it is impossible to gain any muscle mass because you have no extra carbs in the system and your eating below your bmr ...
when your bulking or eating above your bmr, you can gain muscle because of the excess calories. When cutting away the fat you are not gaining muscle, and most time you end up losing a little, but not much as long as you keep training and doing your carb ups every week er so. You could lose 20 pounds when doing a ckd or low carb and stay the same in muscle mass, or if you don't train and get sleep etc, then you will lose, But not 20 pounds of muscle worth unless you are seriousely in starvation mode.
