This has been known about for over a decade, but not studied much until the last 5 years. I had the grand fortune of sitting in a 2 hour seminar about this a few years ago...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. At least it was more interesting than the mold remediation seminar. I only went to that seminar because a really hot chick wanted me to accompany her and sit with her.
