Actually for you diet is everything. I know it's tedious but you really need to start counting calories and their breakdown for each meal into Protein, Carbs and Fat. You need to shoot for 50% protein, 30% carbs and 20% fats and I suggest somewhere around 2000+ calories a day but you haven't mentioned how tall you are which would help to narrow that down.
