When it comes to fat loss, I can only tell you what worked for me and that was total commitment to a regimented and very structured meal plan! In the past I've tried many different thermogenics for fat loss but the results were minimal to say the least. However, they did do wonders for my energy level but also gave me plenty of nights filled with insomnia. These days I work very closely with my physician who monitors my thyroid levels and adjusts my medication accordingly. Fatigue had plagued me until I got the right dosage of synthroid circulating through my body but nowadays, my energy levels are great and my workouts have remained as intense (if not more) than usual. Every now again, I'll grow the balls to try a cycle of something or another but that's usually short lived since my body cant handle the side effects. I've learned through trial and error that a great combination of strict clean eating and cardio has been my best friend when it comes to losing body fat. Every once in a while I'll take an added 200mg of caffiene a few hours before a workout... but I only do that when I want an added energy boost.
Dont forget that with a proper change in eating habits, you and your wife need time and patience to get the right results you desire.
