Kimbo just looked really winded after the fight.. Not physically hurt. The ref mustve sensed those elbows looked too weak to stop the fight.
There have been many instances were the fighter still wants to fight but is basically doomed.Thomson had his ear explode, and was getting a bunch of kimbo hits. Anyone who knows kimbo knows he hits to knock out. it was a matter of seconds before thompson was out cold. Im 99.9% sure of that.
I think the ref shouldve just let thompson get knocked out... Wouldve been a better ending.

You need to look up MMA sanctioning rules. Anytime a fighter receives non stop hits without a response, the fight HAS to be stopped to prevent injury.
Have you been in any MMA fights? believe me, elbows to the head, especially about 50 of them, are VERY damaging and painful, and CAN be deadly (especially in the temple region). Kimbo was on his back getting non stop elbows and giving NO response = fight should have been stopped -- period.
Thompson's ear wasn't 'exploded', he had cauliflower ear which has a lot of scar tissue, and it was cut open, NO different then 1000s of fighters who've had eyes or ears open and the fight goes on. Thompson was still standing and would have taken Kimbo NoBody Slice down and got a decision win against him.
The fight was fixed, black and white man...
