SRV who else? during these last three months or so I´ve lived the most horrendous period in my being on this planet (lost my dear mom to cancer in march)I´ve find great comfort from his music. world might be full of speedy players and those skilled beyond belief , but SRV is and will always be my no uno guitar player. he represented all the qualities I value in any person. he was humble , fragile, extremly polite and never selfish or arogant to other people.
he had huge problems w drugs and alcohol , but he made his way out of them and was clean for some last 3 yrs of his life. some say it showed in his music.
how one could stay like the human he was and still be among the most skilled guitar/bluesplayers ever ( and not becoming one of those pompous "stars") tells a lot about him.
he seemed to be more alive than ever when he played w other musicians , other "big" names sometimes , but for him just guitar players he wanted to play w . you would see his appreciation just by looking his face after each song played.
he stayed all too short time alive , yet God has our days counted. Him Stevie Ray believed in too. his mother has written a touching letter of him ( and his brother Jimmy Vaughan too) and his troubles . and how he found the way out .
so w these few words I ´d like to introduce Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble !!!!!! MY PRIDE AND JOY
