I went out to buy a new magnifying glass since mine seemed to have gone missing, I only did 2 photos 1 with 1 without and didn't play with the lens placement to get it better but this is a simple example of why a additional lens can do for close up shots without having a high end camera with a macro lens.
That's the warning sticker on my green laser pointer.
