Sorry for all the bad luck. You really didn't provide what Rat asked of you so you can't really expect too much in return. What I will say is if you haven't been working out in over two years then you definately don't need to be on steroids. You need a solid base of muscle to work with before you start a cycle. What will likely happen is you will sustain another injury and set yourself back again. Your problem can be fixed with a solid workout routine and proper diet. You can accomplish your goals is short order if you can listen to advice.
It will be easier to build muscle for you now because your body will be getting back to its normal size rather than trying to increase more than you ever had. If you check out my intro post you would see that I had a run of bad luck myself several years back and several years out of the gym. I went for a solid 190 pounds to 155 pounds in 3 months due to an illness. I gained it all back but it was fat not muscle. I finally got my shit together and got back on a good workout routine and decent diet and dropped to 175 lean pounds and now I'm 190 again and still have decent body fat percentage. I dropped the fat and got to the 175 in about six months without any supplements or steroids and I'm in my 40's. There is no reason you can't do the same if your dedicated.
