Take care my friend. I lost a good friend 5 years ago, pro bodybuilder Muscle Kitamura. He was dieting down for a contest. I do not know for sure if DNP is what killed him, but that's the rumor that went around the gym.

He was in the gym training in the evening and looked great. Next day we hear that he died of a "heart attack" at home. THe medical report was really vague, but the connection between his contest dieting and use of diet drugs , and his death was pretty clear. It was unbelievable to have happened to such an incredible guy- a true hero in our gym. His pictures and paraphenalia still decorate the walls.

Cytomel and DNP use at our gym went down in a hurry after that. I used to use cytomel, but now I lose weight the old fashioned way- with aerobic exercise.

Again, cannot claim that I know for sure that DNP (or cytomel) is what got him, but please take care until more is know about this stuff. Shit gives me the willies...

So, you want to do DNP, well let me tell you my story.

I’m a long-time user of DNP, up and down at different times, well one day during my 7th or 8th cycle of DNP ( I was advanced ) I started my usual DNP dose of 600mg/day, but this time I felt nothing at 600mgs; well since I was experienced I waited a bit and took 200 more mgs then 4 hours later I took 200mgs more, that’s a total of 1000mgs that day. During the morning of the next day I woke up at 4am and could not breath; basically, my temperature must have been 103-4F++++ and I could not breath in all the way: shortness of breath.

At this point, I didn’t know what I do, I couldn’t get enough air in me, and I was almost passed out, luckily my wife came into the house from work (home early) and she saw me and asked if she should call 911, well obviously all I need is to have my wife know I just did an OD on DNP and I knew that by the time I get to the hospital I’d probably be ½ brain dead…so I had her fill up the bathtub with cold water and pour ice in there. (2 big bags) Basically, I got into a cold bath (yes it felt HORRIBLE) and I laid there, preparing to die, my wife walked in brought me electrolyte water (water with minerals + vit.) and a HUGE fruit salad with honey (HUGE) well after eating it in a cold bath I suddenly felt better. So, I got out of the bath and went to bed for 30min then woke up again and ate and did the cold bath again; in about 4 hours I went to bed and woke up fine.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, “what an idiot”; however, at the point of this cycle I had gone up to 800mgs and I was fine, so you can see what an extra 200mgs can do. It’s 200mgs but it makes a HUGE difference. So, my lesson, DNP is dangerous, I knew it and I even wrote a manual on DNP but I still fucked it up myself….thus, you can see I’m only human like all others on this board. My advise would be, stay away from DNP, you can get the same results fairly easy with diet/cardio/training/AS.

You see, DNP is an uncoupling agent that inhibits the flow of electrons and the pumping of H+ ions for ATP synthesis. So, when the flow of electrons is inhibited it can cause reverse-osmosis in the body, which can lead to DEATH!

THANK YOU for posting this. I thought this thread was way, way too light on the topic of what is in fact a potentially dangerous drug. I am really happy that you lived through your "mistake". Apparently my friend did not.

Come on guys, DNP is a drug of last resort for competing bbers only. There is no way that a recreational bodybuilder should be encouraged to use it. Even competing bbers who can get lean without it should do so.

Dieting sucks, but it beats maybe being dead.

What a great but sad post all at the same time. Gald you can still talk about your experiences today and not have to have someone else talk about them for you.

DNP is mainly dangerous because there is no negative feedback loop for it, it will continue to raise body temp if the dose gets too high and there is nothing changing that. With DNP is that the difference in dosage required for fatloss and the lethal dosage is small.

That's what scares the hell out of me. I wanna try it @ 50mgs ED and work up from there. All but one I've seen make it @ 200mg per cap...

don't waste your time 50mg ED will be a waste, go with 100-200mgs as a start

I wanted just to start @ 50mg. Just to see if I'm alergic, then go up in low doses like clen/t3 style.
Freaks me out that the caps are 200mg a peice, and they can't be broken in half.

trouble with DNP is that there are not enough bro's who have used it - but some of the most experienced juicers I know - myself included - feel it is better left alone - a few of the guys also strongly advise any users to be sure their wife "does" know they are on it and what to do in case it gets out of control

But I understand not all of us want to tell the missus - but it is a good idea in the case of DNP, and or slin use to have someone around who knows
