I feel a soreness in the midle to left side of the center of my upper pec...like a mini tear maybe...this was three yeras ago easy and i like i said before have been off for 2.5 to three years from gym and juice...
i seem to rub that side alot i can feel light tenderness, kinda buggs me and some times when i strecth my arms up i get a bad POP in my chest like PPOP! abd im like wow...and then i go on...no extreme pain or anything but I guess this is the best way to talk abouty it... facts: did it whiloe doing arnold work out pull ups weights, dids weights then ouch! *three years later when it happened i had to stop working out for a long while but even years later seems not good all the way... fact: nothing like that bad torn pec pic everyone gets to see... no bruising at all either thanks |

Your profile says USA, but is English your second language? Not trying to be critical, but your posts are pretty difficult to understand.
A lot of people have injuries that nag them in the future. Could be a tear, a tendon issue, or phantom pain. If it not a recent injury, I would just power through, unless the pain is intense. |

I have experienced an injury similar a few years back (2003). Anyway, I believe I was overtrained and/or not properly warmed up... I heard an audible pop and felt some pain in my pec and delt tie in region--to this day not sure what the hell that was (could have been either a ligament, tendon or muscle...) but, since then I've changed the way I train. I use to treat my body as though it was/is a machine. Today, I warmup and stretch much more and listen to my body... If it's too much weight I'll lower it and put my ego aside and if I'm not recovered from a previous workout I'll take another day off or adjust.
From that day on I couldn't bench or work on overhead pressing movements for awhile (put them on hold for nearly three months and came back stronger). I concentrated on many other forms of weight lifting to recuperate and to build power in weaker areas. For instance, I did a lot of power cleans and strongman workouts along with whatever power lifting squat routine I could do. Also, to this day I sometimes feel a slight twinge in that particular area (scar tissue perhaps) and warmup and stretch and then it goes away. My only advice is to warmup thoroughly especially that particular area and stretch on a regular basis... and listen to your body bro. If you need more rest or you start to feel something "not" normal in that area heed to it if all the proper precautions don't work--Don't work through "the pain" if it's in fact real pain. One more thing, if you don't keep a training log now is probably a good time to do so... (try to learn from your history so you don't have to repeat it) Use it as a journal/reference and write everything down... e.g. exercise/weight info and how you felt and if any particular exercise or combination caused pain... |

I won't have my medical doctorate for over another half a decade, but I'm thinking you tore the hell of your pectoralis major. I could be wrong, but I definitely don't think that I am. All muscles, no matter what, work in pairs. When you were working your pecs, you were also working bits of your triceps and biceps to maintain and stabilize. I believe that the working that your body was doing was able to be supported by your arms, but not necessarily by your chest. When one muscle stretches, the others in the pair relax. Your arms flexed, your pec relaxed. Long story short, bud- you stretched and tore the hell out of that relaxed pectoral muscle.
