Stats/background and request for advice.

As you can see by my stats I am fat. I used to workout from the age of 15 to 22 at the local YMCA and in my basement. I started abusing marijuana at 22 and found myself working out less and less. I met my wife (she still looks great)that same year and we quickly started eating out often. It was not long before I started getting soft and then large.

Fast forward 9 years and two kids later and I'm the chubby guy at work. I have gotten pretty fed up with myself and I desire to make some serious changes in my life. I am starting my own business this year and I will be dealing with the public and I don't want to look sloppy.

I have never taken roids before but I am interested in trying at least one cycle and I was considering deca durabolin. I am very interested in some better educated advice on what I may want to start out with.

My goal is to lower my body fat and increase my muscle mass at least to the point that people might guess that I workout.

Honestly your still a milestone from doing steroids. If you go against my advice and others on this board you are going to find yourself at a higher bodyfat % than where you started at. You need to learn how to diet; make meal plans, and stick with a workout regmine. You said yourself your fed up at being fat and at 5'8 215 you are considered obese at roughly 25-30% BMI. There is atleast 7 things you need to do before you even consider steroids.

1. Make A Commitment

2. Get Emotional Support (Your Wife)

3. Set A realistic Goal (5-10 pounds per month)

4. Change Your Eating Habits (Healthy Foods)

5. Hit The Gym Again

6. Change Your Lifestyle

7. Research More About Anabolics

I'm glad I asked...the last thing I need is to put on more weight. Thank you. A meal plan sounds practical and challenging. I usually just eat what my wife prepares for me. I am actually looking forward to working out but I'm not looking forward to being the chubby guy both at work and now at the gym too

Blakeman I have to say I haven't seen a single intelligent post from you and this one is down right harmful advice. Even if you are joking it is uncalled for because it can give someone grasping for an easy out something to hang on to. I don't run this place at all but if I did I would think seriously about banning your account.

Chunky Kong, it's wonderful to have you here at the site. I commend you for you stepping forward to make a change. We are behind you all the way and will help in any way possible. I was right at your position in my life at the age of forty and having back surgery. You can get this done I promise. Adam has done a wonderful job of lining out an initial plan. Just an update. I have been making changes to my diet and I have already lost 5 lbs. Cutting soda out of my diet has been difficult but so far i am doing well (pepsi addict). I have discovered that Kale and my blender are a good team. I also found out that sardines are actually pretty damn tasty. It is very hard to change my eating habits so drastically but I'm feeling good about myself at the moment. That's all for now.

Keep training hard mate, I'm sure plenty of people on here will help you out as long as you be smart and work hard, set small manageable goals for you weight loss and workouts, don't try and lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks, eat right and post your diet in the nutrition section and search for some great meal alternatives, I know i have found some...

I will also suggest light weight workouts with short breaks in between sets. Instead of taking a minute in between sets, try 30 seconds. Work out for about a half hour, then do cardio for a half hour or more. Ride a bike, or other cardio equipment.

Remember,though don't stop eating all together...that can make situations worse.keep yourself at a HEALTHY 1500-2000 calories a day.

Changing eating habits is hard. Changing WHAT you eat first is a great step forward, then work on when...but if you are down 5 lbs already, you are doing great!!
