Warning 18 Gauge needles

Just a word to the wise... I had been using 18 gauge needles on occassion to draw... I normally use 20 gauge. Well, after poking with an 18 gauge, I drew up the oil, gave it a good look and almost injected 2 pieces of stopper into my ass! Check your oil and syringes when using 18 gauge as they seriously degrade the stopper! 2 fresh 20ml vials into which I was filtering 20ml solutions... SAME THING happened on the first poke. Now I have 2 beautifully filtered solutions with a pice of stopper in them.

USE the smallest gauge needle u can to draw! AND CHECK UR SYRINGE THOROUGHLY!

I use the 18 as well for drawing but never check for things like that.I will be sure to check my pin to see if I take in any seal before pinning.

Nice warning VO I always use the green 21g to draw and blue 23g to shoot.. Never have a any probs..

I always use an 18gage to draw, but always discard it immediately. I also always take a hard look at the soluton once its in the syringe... just in case....

Yeah I've heard before that they are very very hard n the stopper, I can't get them here anyway.

ya it happen to me to today, but what can u do to transfer the juice from the package u need a 18 G, that oil is dam thick man. Anyways when I take it out I will use my 22 G, and that take some time.

I used to warn everyone about this but gave up. Too many people set on their 18 ga needles. A 20 ga draws very nicely and makes a huge difference in not chewing up the rubber. Just a quick note that you can pick up a pile of red rubber stoppers from getpinz and replace your chewed up stoppers. Just pour some meythl alcohol over them then place them in the oven at 200 degrees to dry them off while your taking off the aluminum capping ring that's holding your chewed up stopper on. Discard the old capping parts and stretch your new red rubber stopper over the open end of the vial. Voila...good as new.

Yea, I only used an 18g once to draw. I am afraid the same thing will happen to me, so I don't plan on doing it again. Now I'm drawing with my 25g pinz=no fun, but at least I wont have rubber chunks in my gear...
