    Default Water retention steroids

Hi, iv never really understood fully what water retention actually is. How does it happen? The way i kind of understand it is been the opposite of been incredibly cut and defined. A guy with a lot of water retention is big but looks kind of fat.

How do you get rid of water retention, or prevent it? can you just not drink as much water or something, or sweat it all out in a sauna? any info appreciated.

This is backwards. Not drinking enough water can cause water retention. If you aren't drinking enough your body starts to wonder when {or if} it will get more water so it starts holding on to what it has. This is a survival mechanism. Water also washes out toxins and waste from your body {by sweating and pissing}. Try to drink 1-2 gallons a day.

You can avoid water retention by limiting the amount of sodium in your diet. If you aren't keeping track of it, I guarantee you're getting too much. Become conscious of this. It's a major factor in water retention.

Eat more fiber and vegetables. Similar to water, which cleanses the urinary tract and kidneys, fiber cleanses the colon/intestinal tract, keeping things moving smoothly which aids in the removal of excess fluid.

Try tanning. Tanning helps to tighten up the skin, and drop excess fluid through sweating as well. A sauna may also be beneficial, but neither of these will work if you don't address the underlying dietary issues as well.

All good stuff from MP...................but related to AAS it is certain compounds that can aromatase to estrogen that is what gives them the fat look. Estrogen is very good at holding water and why most, not all females have a softer look to them.
If you aren't gaining weight on your current diet, how do you expect to gain weight on roids?

I didn't even think of that, Smiley. You're right of course. My comments hold true for someone not being influenced by AAS compounds, but since he asked on the steroid forum... duh!

If it's water retention from a steroid you're concerned about JM, then my suggestions may not be of much help {though your body will thank you if you take them anyway}. It may just be something you'll have to live with temporarily. If it's that big of a concern, maybe just lower your body fat a bit more before you start your cycle. You'll still lose a bit of definition, but you probably won't blow up like you would at fifteen percent body fat.

No problem MP all good mate. The other thing he can try is a little arimidex whilst on cycle to take care of it?

There are other factors that cause water retention.

Inadequate exercise - The body needs exercise for many different reasons, including improving circulation and aiding in the flow of fluids through cells and tissues. Without enough exercise, fluids tend to pool in the extremities and even in the face and stomach area.

Allergies - Allergic reactions trigger the release of histamines and histamines will encourage water retention as the body strives to isolate and eliminate irritants. Did you know that overeating can cause something like an allergic reaction too? When the stomach is overloaded, particles of food are forced into the bloodstream, causing the body to retain even more water as it tries to rid itself of the contaminants.

The No-Salt which is a form of potassium I believe, takes a bit of getting used too but after a while you'll think of it as salt.

Yeah deff running an AI will cut the estro conversion from some steroids thus resulting in lowered water retention.

I seem to retain more water if I'm not getting proper sleep too. Strange.
