How many of you carry it into the gym and use it toward lifting? My best days are when I'm pissed. Most times I sit at the bench press thinking of ex girlfriends. That always seems to work.

When it comes to lifting, it is my best friend. But when it comes to my Thai Boxing, it can be both good and bad. Good because it drives me to surpass my current skill level when I get my ass kicked, and bad because aggresion kills my focus. The better fighter is one who can stay calm and relaxed, the overly aggressive fighter makes stupid moves.

I set a personal best in the squat several months ago after an argument with my ex-wife. I guess that makes the old saying true...That which does not kill me only makes me stronger...

You have to focus... control the aggression, but temper it (no pun intended).

I use visualization during training. I see myself as a machine, moving like pistons driving the weight up and down. My breathing is the pressure of steam releasing. I never have thought about ex girlfriends in the gym... they actually don't ever piss me off.

So next time you are gettin' ready to move some serious weight, say to yourself..."I"m a fucking machine. I'm gonna move this weight with accuracy and power."
