I DON'T GET IT?

I would like to hear all of your opinions on this.

United States came out a few days ago saying that the Iraqis will be tried as war criminals because of the way that they treated their POW's. The exact words were "it is a violation of the geneva convention to (quote on quote) "parade" POW's in front of the camera." By saying this, they were referring to the tapes of the POW's put on Iraqi telivision the other day.

Now correct me if I am wrong, but weren't Iraqi POW's literrally, paraded in front of CNN, Reuters and BBC cameras over and over again? I saw them surrender, be taken into custody, handcuffed, and being questioned. I also saw an image of a dead Iraqi man laying next to his vehicle for not stopping at an American checkpoint. Are these people not prisoners? Are the news networks lying to us about these peoples status? I simply do not understand this blatent hypocricy, and how a society so inundated with media coverage, cannot point out this simple and obvious fact. These people are prisoners, they were in handcuffs, in United States custody, they were seen walking in straight lines into wherever they were to be questioned or whatever, i just dont see what the problem is with these news anchors.

Also, CNN pretty much flat out refuses to talk about Iraqi casualties. They fail to compile their own number of the innocent dead, yet they discount all other accounts of how many have died.

Then, all of a sudden al Jazeera becomes some organisation that cannot be trusted. Because they show footage of what is going on? Aside from their editorial views, have they not produced accurate accounts of happenings on the battlefield? How does all this madness get glazed over in the fog of war.

well the way i understand it is that the US pow's were being interogated and the bodies were filmed intentionaly to make a mocary of the troops. now the iraqi troops were not intentionally filmed by the US military but by the news reporters toshow what was going on. hell it all sounds weird to me and your right i wish they were keepin a body count on the iraqis,i would like to know how the boys and girls of the armed forces are doing.

FOX/CNN NEWS don't show pictures of the dead Iraqi guards we kill, or the people (civilians) that were killed by our troops because Americans don't have the stomach for it. They'd turn on Bush in a minute, and say enough is enough.

Same with showing our boys dead .. killed from the Iraq Army.

I remember seeing pictures of some 400-500 civilian homes that were blown up in Bagdad. Shit - must have killed thousands. Even the missle that blew up in Kuwait was one of ours!

The enemy looks a lot like us in many ways.

Im so sick of you bending the issues to show only what will make your sad sad point of view look better. YOU ARE NOT AN AMERICAN, most Canadians on this board are more American than you are. Just because you once lived here does not make you an American in my book... and dont use "Marine" in your screen name because you bring disgrace to this country and the Marine Corps. I can't even see Zipkid as loving peace whatsoever. If I didn't know any better he could just be an Iraqi nationalist. Maybe some time might be needed to find out who he really is, but I really don't care. He doesn't love peace, he doesn't love America or freedom, and he certainly doesn't give a damn about humanitarian issues. 400-500 civilian houses blown to smithereens huh? Prove it. I've already addressed the civilians that have been killed that most people are aware of. You really don't care about life at all. You don't care about freedom and you don't care whether a tyrant that loves to brutalize people lives and continues to murder them or not.
