don't know much about politics, but i have to say that i have faith in Pres Bush and i back his move.....i know hussain was in the wrong in many ways, stated above in this post....obviously something had to be done....i do agree to an extent that we act like the "worlds police" at times, but heck...who else would step in??? and i also agree that there are many problems right here at home...and many others in the world....i just believe that there were many threats towards us by Iraq that we (the public) weren't aware of, and bush had to act to keep us safe....i back him 100%, but again...i am not a political buff....maybe i should have stayed out of this one....my 2 cents...i'm out...

but is "talking shit" a reason to go to war - maybe not doing it to begin with would be a good decision

I definitely think something had to be done. The man played cat and mouse with the U.N. for long enough. Not necissarily force, maybe tougher sanctions, I don't know. It's funny how we were so firm and decisive with Saddam, but you don't here such tough talk against North Korea. Funny how this administration resorts to "diplomacy" when the adversary has big allies...

I am not taking sides when I reply to this, because I a don't like war and if Saddam could have been taken without force, I wish it could have done that way. But it is ironic that Saddam played 'cat and mouse' just as alot of us have been playing 'cat and mouse' with the US government and their federal regulations and laws on AS. So let me impose a few questions...one being does that make us any better than Saddam? Should the US government launch a full scale invasion on us with a "shock and awe" campaign against us? answer NO....There is no reason for any of it.

And if you say that I can not comare some of the AS users/dealers to Saddam, then that is highly unlikely... for all we know... he could have been using and not dieting correctly.

Well Olm and Spook are not totally wrong. But who is america to judge what is good or wrong? Does Bush have the right to take over Iraq? Do you really think Bush started the war for the people being tortured in iraq? (Or was it oil) Did they ever find chemical weapons? Did Sadam have anything to do with the attack from Bin Laden?

Are we capable of having an opinion here? An opinion is judgement and a real scientist never judges something because after that you cannot longer discuss it. Ofcourse you can say something about the subject but it must be based on facts. And do we know any facts?

War at that point in time may not have been necessary; however war with Iraq was inevitable and necessary.

We simply could not allow a dictator with a history of aggression the ability to be truly sovereign.

What happens when the United States no longer has the upper hand; what happens when a dictator with little or no regard for his people obtains the capability for long range mass destruction; what happens when that same dictator can easily control a majority of the worlds oil supply without threat of retaliation?

It simply does not matter whether Sadam did or did not have the capability for mass destruction; it was only a matter of time. Why wait?
