Any females had to file sexual harrasement???

i had this BAD phone call from my ex yesterday...i don't know exactly what happened, but definate sex. harras. at work... and the dude is denying it all...

i cheered her up cause she's still a friend... see she's in process of getting hired on a fire department and is worried that if she hires a lawyer they'll find a way to not hire her....

i told her just to keep chin up, and i would respect her more for doing what's best for her career and letting the scum be scum...then let me know if buddy causes a problem again and he'd be in deep! DEEP! worst part is she just wanted an apology and he just keeps denying it...AND to top it off both her dogs (chinese chows $$$) got out ran across road and hit by car.... i guess when shit happens, Shit happens...

anyway curious if any female members had to charge someone and if they feel it affected any type of career with a background check....

I could be wrong here but I didn't think it showed up on a background check i thought that was for just misdemeanors and felonies that a person had been convicted of.

My g/f is suing the restaurant she worked for because of a manager that kept harassing her. She went to the owner to complain about it and he response was for her to handle it herself. Same thing, all she wanted was for the guy to stop and to apologize. Since she wasn't going to get one she decided to sue their ass.
She's still in school and bartends so I don't think it will effect her when she goes into her chosen field.
Whatever lawyer your ex gets make sure that he has her file a complaint with the EOC (Equal Opportunity Commission. It's a fedaral agency that handles discrimination complaints. If they find her complaint to be valid then her employer is screwed and the creep will most likely be out of a job.

but no charges...just quit. luck it was when i was young and not a career type job.

Sexual harrasement is one of the biggest problems in the workforce, about 60% of women are at least at one time harrased.

I would say she needs the lawyer, or they'll just make her life hell.

The fact that she files a sexual harrassment report within the company should not cost her a job. However, if the complaint is logged in her personnel file, of course an investigator can find out about if it he/she goes that far. Depending on the state law in which she lives, she can probably tape record the conversations without his knowledge (as you can here in Texas..ahhh I love it). Then she can have undeniable proof and he can deny until he is caught deadhanded. Tell her to file the report, there's no shame in protecting ones-self.
