Saddam Hussein captured finally

Went to bed at 330am and woke up at 7am thinking if I watched the news for a little bit I'd fall back to sleep. Saw where Hussein was captured about 14 hours ago and the news was just released in the last couple of hours.

It would be nice if that sneaky little SOB Bin Laden would be found. However, it did look like Hussein was being treated fairly. He was being given a medical checkup and being checked for lice when they showed the vids on TV.

He was a very scruffy looking dude, but they shaved his beard and gave him a haircut. He had been moving from place to place every 3 hours to keep from being caught. Its a shame that he was a menace. When I had dinner with a former embassador to Saudi Arabia several years ago, all I can remember was his wife talking about how un-nerving Hussein was when she met him. Her husband had to treat him similar to a dog by standing with one foot forward to keep him back from talking to closely. He used to be a close talker before he became President of Iraq.

Did anyone read the transcript of Bush's speech? I could have made a better speech by summing things up with, "F**k you and the camel you rode in on!"

But I loved Bremmer's speech: "We GOT 'im!"

Now I hope for the capture of Osama Ben Laden. That would give me a sense of closure.

Could be fun to watch the stock market today.

yesterday was my son's fifth birthday. my wife told him that his birthday was taking place on an american historical moment...the capture of suddam. you ought to have seen this little guy. he walked around all day with his chest stuck out, telling everybody about suddam being captured on his b-day.:laugh

That was great...I was awake watching Fox News Channel when it broke....isn't it nice to know that he called for all Iraqis to fight to the death against the oppressors, to use knives, sticks, guns, whatever you can find......and he gave up within seconds without even firing a shot.....hmmmmm....does anyone think the Iraqi loyalist will read through that? Me neither...
