My mistake boogs, I didn't realize it was written that long ago. But, Lacy, I DO KNOW FOR A FACT that this story was written about American history and everything in the story has a specific meaning ;the yellow brick road, the ruby slippers, the wizard, the East and West in alliance and the North in opposition w/ the East and West. I remember a specific lecture on this story in college. I think it has something to do w/ the establishment of our monitary system here in US. I believe "the yellow brick road" has something to do w/ some political figures wanting to use silver instead of gold as coins/tender. I don't remember the other analogies, but if you must know, I will look them up or call my old history professor.
