I think it is an anaconda and it ate a capybara. I even looked on some reptile sites and it looks like a lot of folks agree with me. Anacondas live in South America and hippos live in Africa so that automatically makes the video suspect.

I think you would be safe. I think even snakes know that Canadians aren't good to eat.
