Anyone here own(ed) an Acura, specifically a TL?

I'm probably going to get a new car but I have to keep the payment down. I was looking at new Maximas and Altimas but realized the Maxima is too pricey and the Altima is too common. Now, I'm looking at an Acura TL 2003 or 2004 with under 30k miles. I'm hesistant to drop $20K+ on a used car but I know Hondas run forever so I'm assuming the Acura would too since they are the same thing.

Any personal experience with any of these rides?

Nevermind about the TL. It looks like I would have to go with the '04 and I can't get one for under $25K+ unless it has a bazillion miles on it. I'm starting to think that buying used isn't the way to go. I'd be better off financing new for 5 years than financing used for 3.

My girl is pressuring me to buy something that I don't really want just for the sake of a low payment. That's probably the smart thing to do but I'll be damned if I have to hate my life PLUS not be able to drive a car I actually want. It's me time, kids.

I had an acura, but nothing like you would get....

it was about average reliability....not a bad car

i bought my car in a similar situation as yours 2 years ago. it was either get a nicer car used or a less expensive car new. I would take the less expensive car after looking back, because my car has had a few problems here and there. i enjoy the hell out of it, but ill definitely buy new in the future just for the warranty.

I think you're right. The more I research used cars the more I don't see much advantage in them. You get a cheaper car but finance it for fewer months (which means not much difference on the payments) and miss out on the security of the full warranty as well as KNOWING it has been taken care of its whole life.
