snakes are cool as long as you know what they are but i was swimming off a pier years back and came up out of the water and saw a snake with only its head above water about a foot away i almost shat my self

I did that with an alligator one time. He was about 7 feet away, but way too close for comfort. That added a whole new dimension to the phrase "Look before you leap".
