Getting dive certified

I figured since I live in one of the top 10 dive spots in the world, I should finally "take the plunge". I have completed all of the class work and start the dives tomorrow, I'm pretty stoked. I'll keep you ninjas updated.

Let me know if they let you swim out of a torpedo tube. And when they'll show you how to use the limpet mines... thats the real fun!!!

I'm thinking that may have to wait at least until I get my advance open water cert.

Tonight is our first confined water dive. It's gonna be in the Sea of Japan, not really confined water, but whatever. At least it is a nice day.

I'm a master muff diver. Mostly OJT, no formal course required.

Did some of that with the intern they paired me up with for a project in NY this week. Think I let the no-decompression time pass though.

So I was in about 8 feet of water this morning, we were working on maintaining neutral buoyancy. You have to just hover. Then this big-ass octopus comes up over my shoulder and damn near runs into my face. I'm not sure which of us got freaked out worse. He inked everywhere. It probably smelled alot better than what I was thinking about doing.
