Most people at that time would have taken a job guarding our airspace rather than go to Vietnnam.(That depends on his views at the time of the war) He didnt go to Canada like alot of people either. protect airspace from the Vietkong lol (as far as I know the northern vietnamese barely had enough rice, much less an airplane)...the only reason they 'defeated' the USA is because of public views back home - nothing more.
