The problem I see is that the proposed Bush fence that is now being built which is a double steel one and as already shown is pretty much useless has been budgeted at 2.2 billion and will cover only 700 miles and pundits are saying that the likely completed costs will be double that. So maybe we need to get some Israeli contractors over here to build it properly and within budget. Problem is they will probably love being here so much they will want to stay and become illegal immigrants.. :bigsmile

Completely agree and that is what should be being done if they were in any way serious about this like the Israelis clearly are in the examples you have shown. The present measures are a half-assed attempt and a waste of money that will serve as no real purpose excepting maybe to appease a few voters who don't know any better.

Due to a very long terestrial border the illegal immigration flow would be very hard to be kept under control....a high tech fence is time consuming and very expensive...plus we need more patrol troops too.
We would have been much better off if we were an island....

Another question is, how we gonna deal with those 12 million illegals? Sending them home would be a theme for another Mission Impossible movie...

But, oh no...politicians are scared that wetbacks will be the majority in 2010-2020, so let's suck the american economy into oblivion to let this criminals live in the states.
