Rats Whats Going On Thread

Grrr. I went in my room to lay down again, hoping for just a little freakin sleep and no, of course not.. the dog started barking like crazy, then I heard a knock at my back door. I hate when people use my back door, anyways, I get back up and get the door. There stands my ex-almost-step-sister, hair flying everywhere, stains all over herself, clothes that don't appear to fit correctly, and coffee dripping off her chin. I can tell by her appearance her mental state is a mess and she wants me to go to the grocery store with her.

Now, please don't get me wrong, I generally have all the patience in the world for her I know she's sick and can't help it but today, going on no sleep and with all my other worries I can't do it. So, I still invited her in, listened to the latest issues increasing her anxiety level, offered my suggestions, got her calmed down a little and then reminded her she needs to try and make taking care of herself a priority before she leaves the house (I wasn't being mean - she really doesn't think about these kinds of things) and kindly I couldn't accompany her to the store this time.

She assumes there is something wrong with me, keeps telling me I look very depressed and sluggish, begging me to tell her what's bothering me... I haven't slept. That's it, but not a good enough reason in her mind. I'm sure it probably would of just been easier to get a shower and go with her, but she's one of those people you don't even trust to leave alone long enough to shower. No, she wouldn't take anything from me, but she commonly lights a cigarette and then will forget to ash it, or not pay attention and burn something while she's holding it, she's careless with her drinks and always has one... I guess I just fear if I leave her alone long enough to shower she'll have coffee stains and cigarette burns in my furniture and carpet. I just hope she doesn't continue to dwell on her visit this morning and allow her illness to twist things up. If she does she'll either A) be back later to just double check that I am ok and make sure I really was just tired or B) avoid me for several weeks claiming me not going with her was cause I am mad at her for something.

I really wish they could get her meds right and help her get her mind right. She's so promising when she's healthy. Unfortunately she's so sick she probably won't ever be 100% again, she hasn't been in a long time. She's only like 33 or 34 and she has 3 children she's struggling to raise. It's heart-breaking and really makes me appreciate my 'sanity' a little more than most.

Oh, I know I probably sound like a mean *itch for this post, but I just want to sleep and it's just not happening for me today.

She sounds EXACTLY like my brother. OMG, I totally understand.
It is so frustrating.

She's bi-polar, with serious anxiety problems, and her last diagnosis was borderline schizophrenia. Oh, and like on top of all that it matters but they've diagnosed her with adult ADHD, as well. All of her children have ADD or ADHD and her oldest is also bi-polar. I raised her children for her for almost 5 years when I was in my teens... I only wish I could help them more now.

Have I ever mentioned I hate my sperm donor sometimes... had he called me an hour ago to tell me he wasn't taking me to the damn pharmacy this afternoon (like he promised yesterday) I would have forced myself to go with Natalie. Now, I can't get my script refilled.

But, I assure you, being that Natalie is his ex's daughter if he'd of called to come get me and I told him Natalie was taking me he would of quit talking to me completely. He's done it before. He was with her mother for 8 or 9 years and then just expects me to cut ties with them cause he found a new woman, doesn't work that way.

Oh well, I guess I just have to keep laughing that everything turns out to be shit when I need something.

She was a only 4 credits from her master's degree in accounting when she got sick in her mid-twenties. She's incredibly smart when she can think straight. She's so sick now, that she can't even manage her bills correctly. She showed up once at my house around 2 AM with cash, checks, bills and a calculator in tears.. and begged me to help her balance her checkbook, pay her bills and show her a budget for the rest of the month. It really tears me up to see how hard things are for her.
