Well well well...

I just got some news about my father's step-son.

and what news might that be?

So... The kid is 18, 2 years ago at 16 he stole my father's gun, and almost robbed a gas station, his younger brother turned him in to my father so the state troopers and my father were the ones to find him, hiding behind the dumpster at the gas station. Against his wife's opinion, my father pressed charges and had her son arrested. He did a year in a juvenile home. When he came back to my father's to live he told his mother he was going to join the army. He quit school, got his GED and convinced his mother to sign the contracts so he could join the army at 17. The terms stated he could be trained prior to turning 18 but couldn't actually be sent anywhere until after he turned 18. He went through boot camp last year and then started his special ops training (not sure what it was exactly), he called from training and said he was coming home for 2 weeks. He showed up at home and told his mother he didn't have permission to leave. She called the recruiters and got him out of trouble, he went back to finish special ops. Once he completed that he was given 3 weeks to come home, this was over the Christmas holiday and was to end just 2 days after his 18th birthday. He came home, spent Christmas with his family and never went back. He's been AWOL ever since. My father has instructed him several times to turn himself in, he can't get a job and just sits on his arse all day. He moved out of my father's house cause he couldn't take the parental rules. He moved into his older brother's apartment and started mooching off him. His brother told him last week he had to get a job or move back to my father's house.. apparently, that wasn't acceptable to this jackass. Last night he stole his brother's car, under the influence of drugs, with no license and got into some trouble, my father wouldn't tell me everything, only to watch the news. He is now probably looking at some jail time here before he's shipped off to the army again to face the music. (My father said that he personally called the army this morning to make sure it was taken care of.)

I don't really feel bad for the kid, he deserves everything he's got coming to him. He's turned his back on anyone who has tried to help him and doesn't try to learn any lessons from what he's already been through. I'm also taking a little joy in this because his mother hates me and always tells my father I am the worst of their children. She has 4 kids, my father has me (& you might count my sister, though she isn't his). Anyways, stealing my father's gun was bad, but all this on top of it only makes it worse. He's something to be proud of!! I hope she's proud of him.

Can't wait to see the news and find out what his other charges are.
