Mushrooms are good. Whenever my wife makes her dreaded meatloaf, I drown it in mushroom gravy. Otherwise I'll have to vomit on it to tenderize and give it some taste.

Who wants to eat johns big italian sausage and balls. ....(just kidding) Meatballs:for each pound of ground beef(mix 1lb at a time) use 1 large egg, 1 cup italian style bread crumbs, heres the secret(1/2 cup ramano chease) fresh grated if possible. should yeild approx 6-8 large balls per batch. now you should already have sauce simmering. i prefer five brothers 4 cheese, or newmans own 5 chesse- cut at a ratio of 2 jars to 1 can hunts or contadina tomato sauce, +1 6 oz can tomato paste. all aforementioned brands have one thing in common NO ADDED SUGAR. which makes them ideal for calabraise style cooking . NO FUCKING RAGU OR PREGO.-thats cicilian, more sweet. Now i like garlic. so i would add two verry thin sliced cloves to a pan of hot extra virgin olive oil with say 4 tbsp per aforementioned ratios of sauce, so if you double it , double it.
