Dude we're talking meatloaf here. I'm italian,I know how to make a f*cking meatball. Also sauce is made from tomatoes not a can.

johns balls continued. now once you have the garlic disolved in the oil add to the simmering sauce. Now add the most important ingredient 2 large whole bay leaves. now slowly and gently add the meatballs. add italian sausage if you like. and another secret-A pork bone from your local butcher. soon you will see the beef fat liquify and rise to the top. Do not skim yet- it protects the sauce from burning 'cause you are going to simmer it overnite at the lowest possible temp. skim- pour over your favorite pasta roll finished meatbals in oregano for flavor and aesthetics and enjoy!!!!

I'm not Italian, and I make sauce from tomatoes, too. I was taught by some of the very best Italian's I know.

I think most people are just lazy and would rather use a can. I am guilty of it sometimes, but never very often. I probably only eat food that requires sauce once or twice a year anyways.

After you boil and peel them, cut them in half and scoop out the seeds. we have some form of pasta every Sunday.

I try to avoid pasta at all costs. If I do eat it, I eat whole grain pasta. My favorite pasta dish though, is my grandma's baked mac-n-cheese (which I replicate quite well) or my baked ziti.. that's my best Italian dish, but I make it very differently.
