update: she's been planning a trip to florida with two of her female friends for about two months now and they were scheduled to leave today. well, when we woke up this morning, it became a battle of her not wanting to leave and me telling her to leave and to not make her decision based on me.

her thought process was: he drove all this ways to be with me and now that i'm with him, i don't want to leave. and that's what she told me.

my thought process was: i drove all this ways to be with her and now that i'm with her, i don't want her to leave. but that's not what i said. i told her that she needed to go if she felt good enough to. in the back of my mind, i was hoping that she would choose me over her friends, even though i know that is selfish of me. she has been planning this trip for awhile and she needs some relaxation time. but it still kinda stings a little, ya know?

to her credit, for about 2 hours, she was a wreck, not knowing what to do. but in the end, it's pretty much my fault that she went, cause i pushed her so hard to go. i just didn't want to be the reason that she didn't go.

so now i'm stuck here alone. my mom is in D.C. and no one is home. i could drive back, but i'd just have to turn around and come back home tomorrow. i guess i could just drive back down to school today like i said, and stay there this weekend, but all of my friends are coming going home too, so i would literally be there by myself. unless i drove back down there today, then got a ride back home with one of them tomorrow, but if i did that, i wouldn't have a means of transportation. so i'm in a pickle.

Take some R & R time for you.. hang out at the house.. then hang out with your friends tomorrow when they get home. Trust me.. it won't kill you to be alone for a day or so.. I'm not dead yet.

When you get a little older, things like this don't matter as much. You have to learn to talk to someone who is important to you and you have to also be willing to listen. You can't expect someone to read your mind and you certainly can't expect them to know how to act based on the way you would. It just isn't going to happen.

If you want it, you have to say it and then see what happens, if it's important to her you may have to be willing to bend. In the end, relationships are a lot of work and if you think it's tough now, wait until you throw some kids in to the mix............


I feel for ya bro but try and remember that you are still young and you are still learning the dynamics of relationships and it's ok if you both get it wrong now and then. The trick is to help each other heal and make your way through to the next lesson.

I am not trying to minimize what you are going through, just trying to help with the perspective because you are still young.......and you need to be young for a while yet.


Wow.................this psychology degree is starting to pay for itself...........
