I lied in my original post.. my sister has 3 dogs. All but one were strays they brought in. The one I forgot is a miniature pinscher and it belonged to a neighbor on their street. The people left the dog to run free when they moved back to Puerto Rico from Florida. My sister's husband saw the dog and took it some water, he didn't realize they had moved just thought they were on vacation or something.. then another neighbor said they had moved back to PR so my bro-n-law went and got the dog. A week after they brought the dog home they spent over $1K on it at the vet, he had been eating sand and was completely blocked up, they had to flush it's entire digestive system (from both ends).
