Today the guy that checked the unit cleaned it making sure there was good air flow, the fan turns but the pump was hot and still blowing hot air.

The unit is 20 years old too.... I'm guessing thats considered old?

hes honest, and its prolly locked up. but im knowledgeable. if it was low on freon, there wouldnt be any flowing back to the compressor. it would overheat, and thermal protection would kick in, preventing it from starting. go ahead if you want to and do the stuff i just asked you, because it has had time to cool.(you prolly didnt shut it off prior to his arrival.)if you here a buzzing compressor sound you didnt hear earlier, then id change plans......Also ask him if he checked the capacitor.
