David Feherty's take on the troops in Iraq - A Must Read!

I have just been reading a recent copy of Golf Magazine and in it was great read about David Feherty and some other golf pros visiting the troops in Iraq. I am unsure how many of you guys are familiar with David Feherty and his writing and commentating on TV for golf but he is a great story teller with an excellent sense of humor. He is originally from Ireland but lives now in the US.

Anyways I loved this piece and knowing how many of us on here talk at times about the situation in Iraq and the war generally i thought this would make a good read for anybody. It is available online too as I have just found so posting a link to it:

Also, maybe one of the best quotes ever.............The closer we get to Baghdad, the more I suspect that the smartest Americans are in Iraq, and they get progressively dumber the closer you get to Washington.

He just knows how to put things into a great perspective this guy while making it enjoying to read. He has soooo many excellent one liners and quotes like the one you mention. His insight and true love for these guys was really quite heartfelt. It really tugged at a nerve with me.
