Rubicon...............

Rubicon the river, not the Jeep. I picked up a book called Rubicon: The Last Years of the Roman Empire today. The book was written by Tom Holland. Has anyone else read this book? The book looks pretty interesting. It's basically about how that Julius Caesar and his army crossed the Rubicon to march upon Rome. By Roman law, no Roman army was ever permitted to cross the Rubicon since it was a border river with Gaul, but Caesar did so and it was his point of no return to cast the republic into a civil war to create a militocratic empire with loose civil rule still held by the senate. If anyone has read it, let me know if it was worth it.

You really need to read. It is far better than TV. I like TV, but once I get into a good book, I forget about TV and get much better entertainment from reading...especially with history or historical novels.

BTW, it is called hstory because His Story gets repeated once every couple of hundred years, but Her Story gets repeated every damn month.
