Me and my useless information - The Pork and Beans War....

The technical name of the war was the Aroostook War (but it was nicknamed the Pork and Beans War). It was a bloodless war, but still considered a war because the US and British governments raised militias and marched them to the disputed border between Maine and Canada. It occurred during 1838 and 1839. There ya go....sharing with my friends more of my useless knowledge.

I don't know the full story, but apparently the idle soldiers spent their time sitting around eatig pork and beans. There was also a war called the "Pig War" that occurred in the San Juan islands between BC and Washington state that got started because an American settler shot a british man's pig. There were actually a bunch of wars (some bloodless and some not). The Missouri-Iowa Honey War, the Texas-Oklahoma Red River Bridge War, North Carolina's War of Regulation, The Walton War, The Ohio-Michigan War, The Cod Wars, and the War of Jenkin's Ear.
