I haven't had the flu in years. It is trying to catch me. Besides, I had the swine flu during the Carter years so I'm good for now.

The H1N1 flu shot is just like any other flu shot. It will be part of the seasonal flu shot next year. It would have been in this years if they would have had time to get it in there. I've given 50 or more shots and everyone said it even hurt less than the seasonal shot this year. i don't know what that means but they were happy. I've given the nasal mist and those are the ones that get a little sore throat and stuffy nose. They have a lot more of the nasal mists available than the shots. The CDC hasn't released the vaccine to the healthiest members of society yet but they're getting a lot more of the vaccine out every day. We got new premeasured doses today for the younger kids. Embrace the vaccine because the fever people are getting with the H1N1 flu are wickedly high and very hard to get down. 105 degrees with tylenol and ibuprofen going in and not dropping the temp. That's scary folks. Seriously, if you get a chance to get the vaccine take it. BTW....I can walk both ways still. I just have to spin around 3 times before I can sit on the toilet.

If you have a slight allergy to eggs don't take any flu vaccines. Haz, the H1N1 isn't that scary. More people die from the seasonal flu than what has racked up from h1n1 assuming the hospitals are even testing for it. Alot of the hospitals are actually not testing for h1n1 because the treatment is the same as for regular seasonal flu. It would be the same way if there was an outbreak for bird flu....the treatment remains the same. I truly believe that all of the h1n1 hubub is about politics for the Obamascare....er...Obamacare I mean.

The treatment is the same but patient's aren't responding to tylenol to reduce the higher temperatures that are seen with H1N1. I've seen patient's on 1000 mg's of tylenol and 800 mg's of ibuprofen and still have a 105 degree temperature. This isn't responding like every other flu for all people. For you and I and other healthy members of society, yes, it's the flu. For people with compromised immune systems who have problems with the regular flu and get hospitalized by a regular flu are dieing from H1N1. There is a difference. It's not the end of the world but it is a flu to respect. I have a feeling we have the same perspective of H1N1. My post was to stop the run of people making fun of it and being afraid of the vaccine. You can pick it apart if you want to take it line by line but I was sending a message and not carefully choosing every word for someone to pick at. It's like me making fun of H1N1 being politically motivated that you posted. Obama doesn't control the CDC or the medical world. The medical world is to high and mighty to listen to anyone.

The last time I had a fever of 105, they put me in an ice bath. That was the german measles though that made me that sick when I was a kid. I don't think I ever felt more miserable in my life, and then, they stuck in that horrible ice bath. I felt like my head was melting. My testicles said, "Screw this this! Back up we go!!!!"
