I guess yall all heard by now what happened at Ft Hood yesterday. All I can say is God bless the soldiers and their families. Its bad to see this happen like it did.

It totally defies logic. I don't understand why there are no armed soldiers on a military installation. Had just one of them been armed then the death toll would have been much lower or non exisistent.

On base you keep your weapon and bullets, but you clear the chamber. Bases on US soil don't expect you to carry even a side arm all of the time. The first responder to show up and confront the assailant was a civilian policewoman who shot the assailant 4 times in the torso while she was shot only once with a non-life-threatening injury. She was kinda cute too.

Its terrible who things like this happen but theres some messed up ppl in the world. I'm praying for the victims families.

I think it was great that she was able to bring him down but for the life of me I don't understand how she was the first one to show up with a gun. I've never been in the militarty but it would seen there would have been some security other than at the gate.

Law enforcement are trained to respond to "active shooter" situation following all the school violence in recent years. They are trained to enter into situations where they could be out numbered and out gunned but know they have to take quick action or more people will be injured or die. She obviously had been through that training and has some big balls so to speak. Law enforcement aren't given enough credit in my opinion. They put themselves in danger everytime they put on a uniform.
