    Default Things that go BANG!

Worked up a nice load for the 30/06. 57 Grains of Ar2206h behind 110Grain Vmax, gives muzzle velocity of approx 3430 fps, Moa @ 100Mt's and man does it do the job on impact, lol.
If it wasnt such a pain in the ass to upload pics, I would put some up of the damage these little babie do

Does it add to the recoil?

These are about the same, recoil wise, as factory 150G ammo. Still kicks like a mule though

do you blend it or stack it? I've never loaded my own rounds, but do know that different case manufacturers have slightly different (a couple of grains max) capacity.

I use Federal ammo unless I get a handout / freebe. my preferences are:

for my .223 AR - 5.56x45mm (60gr) partition for home safety and 5.56x45mm (55gr) boat tailed FMJ for range shooting
for my .270 - 150gr partition since this is my main hunting rifle. 150gr in 2.70 has BIG stopping power
for my .308 - 168gr OTM. Use this rifle for accuracy, it's a remington 700

for my .380 automatic - 129gr Hydra-Shok. This round will stop a frekkin bear.

I'd love to get a .338 Barrett, but will not spend $5,000 for a gun

I used to love the 30-06 when I owned a M1 garand. Great round except that sucker DROPS after 500 meters. You really need to compensate for trajectory drop. The penetrating power is just amazing though. We found this old heavy duty steel fridge that was dumped on the side of the road and it could shoot right through it and still cavitate a watermelon.

A little bit of trivia that few may know is that prior to NATO standardizing the .308 round for M1 Garand, the gun was standardized by the American forces as a 30/06. The 30/06 is a slightly better round than the .308.

As far as I know, the M1 has never been in .308, close to it... thats my Fav... the M14 (love my night vision)... In Afganastan, right now... we are giving our designated marksmen (snipers)... armor piercing, incendiary rounds... sshhhhhhh... and using the .300 win mag… no shit… US Military Issued
    Ps… I’ve got a “Grease Gun” and a K-Bar by my side…
I really don't know anything... but if I tell you to do something... it is not for entertainment purposes, it is to be taken as fact. It would be mostly from experience, but then again... we all know that bullshit about everyone is different.

Sure 30-06 is better, same caliber but has more powder and more energy. The 7.62x45 is a great round though. I shot enough of it through the m240 to get acquainted.

I sleep with a K-Bar M16 bayonet/utility knife by my side every night. You are right as far as I know, the M1 Garand was never a .308, but NATO did end up making the .308 a standard round. I also like my SOCOM II. I'm not entirely sure if I like the digitized camo yet or not. I've been debating on that for a few years. I think that the next rifle I obtain may be a Barrett .338 Lapua mag.
