Heart rate/ cardio

Ok guys been hitting the cardio. I have been using the fat loss option on the ellipse and bike and it informs you of the heart rate you should be aiming for. I am always way way above. I plug in 140 to shoot for. I am hovering around 165 and that is at a slow pace. If I put some energy into it it goes up to 180 +. I tried slowing down but if I sloa down too much more I will be going backwards. I am using the Hydroxycut (not my choice it was given to me) and added some Yohimbe is there a maximum rate. I feel like if I watched that number pass 190 I was going to have a heart attack because the number was so high. I don't feel bad and I have had my blood pressure taken yesterday and it was 120/70 so that seems ok. Just a little concerned on the readout.

they arent too accurate..see a cardiologist and get a stress test done..then you'll know for sure..190 isnt good..over 200 expect chest pains

..I've had my HR read at 180 with my hands off the monitors. Don't trust a machine with built in HR equipment. It probably never gets re-calibrated, and won't ever be accurate. Use a watch and check your pulse or buy a strap on HR monitor. They are very close to real HR most of the time

Oh yeah, no ECA etc...was having chest pains. Any advice on how to lower my blood pressure?

how old are you? the pre-workout BP isn't too bad... as long as you aren't 12 yrs/old... only way to really lower a BP is either see your doc about prescribing an anti-hypertensive, or just concentrate on hard core cardio for like a year... then it should come down... so if it's that much of an issue, then see your doc... unless you are getting headaches, visual blurriness... if not, then I say, don't sweat it...

I just thought that my blood pressure would be lower as I would consider myself as active and healthy individual. Currently I'm doing cardio 7 days a week twice a day, and I'm on a CKD. Doesn't CKD lower your blood pressure? Maybe I'm getting too much saturated fat ;P.

CKD should lower your BP. How long have you been on it? Did you have higher bp befoe you went on CKD? You might need some meds frmo the doc.

I thought CKD would lower it too; I didn't think I had any blood pressure issues. I thought I was in pretty good conditioning, around 20 miles cycling/day, and about 20-30 minutes of upperbody conditioning per day not to mention circuit training and weight training that I do. Just bothers me, both my brother and my two sisters both have heart related issues. I would like to do what I can without a prescription.

I've heard that high blood pressure could be a sign of overtraining, maybe I'm just training too much .
