Knee still whack.

Ok, it's been over a month. My knee is still catching and popping.You guys think I should I should see an orthopedic doctor or take a little more time? It's only painful now when it catches. It'll seem all is fine and I'll start planning on hitting legs again, Then I'll turn just right and pop it hurts like HELL.

you may have loose ligaments or something... in fact it could be anything.. and there seriously isn't a reason to aggravate something which is already hurting by working out.. see what the good ol' doc has to say... take it from there...
my knee pops when i turn also.. but mine doesn't hurt at all... i got it checked out by a doc and he said that as long as there is no pain its quite normal... so the pain in your case is a good signal that something is wrong...

if you see an ortho- he'll give you two iptions: 1- physical therapy
2- surgery
DON'T have knee surgery. - I've had 3 and things just kept getting worse.

sounds like your ligaments are out of whack or stretched. if it's permanent damage, best thing to do is build up the quads to help strenghthen where the ligaments are week.
My knee cap tends to move toward the outside of my leg, so I focus more on the the leg curls with my toes pointed inward.


you should see an ortho, but ask around before you do anything dramatic.

Sounds like either a partial (bucket-handle) tear to the meniscus or possibly a more significant tear of the meniscus...

The catching and popping is what makes me think it could be the meniscus...The meniscus basically looks like a donut if you were able to look directly down on it from top of your body...A ring structure of cartilage, acting as a cushion, basically...

What can happen is the loose chunk of the meniscus floats around in the articulation until it gets caught up, almost like a stick stuck into the hinged side of a closing door...It will catch and lock the knee until you pop it out...


But, either way, I would at least go in and have them check it out...You aren't under any obligation to have anything done, but IMO it's always best to find out exactly what the hell is ailing ya...
