Life of protein powder?

Assuming that the container has been closed properly after opening, how long is the powder good? I know, I know....I should have already finished it.

Most powders will have a 12-16 month shelf life...how long have you had it opened? Also, heat, light, and moisture will affect this shelf life.

Maybe 6 months. It's one of GNC's, so it is in the dark container. Just been sitting off to one side of the kitchen counter. Temp range has probably been....65F to 80F approx.

that has been on the shelf for about 2.5 years and its still good. Had a shake the other day. I bought too many of them when I did buy them. I think I got 10 five pound containers about 2.5 years ago and never finished using them all up. Down to one now so, its still good. Just the right storage is all that is needed. It will break down but you can keep it a little longer than you think if stored right.
