Default Thermorexin - How many carbs?

I just got the T-rex that I ordered but have been reading on the EF board that you need to take in some carbs for for it to work....

If this is true, how many carbs should you take in for a day?

I don't think this CKD has been working for me very well...don't think I have really ever gotten into ketosis, the most the ketostix have ever registered is "moderate" and that was just once - they usually hardly change color @ all!

But I worry about increasing carb intake w/ the fat/protein intake where it is, worrying that it will cause weight gain.

Can anyone give me advice on this? X, AB? Sorry to be so uninformed re: diets!

Results haven't been what I thought they would be w/ the CKD. Have been on for 4+ weeks and maybe lost 1" in the waist & 2 or 3 lbs of bodyweight. Gained 1" in thighs which is good - legs were small to begin with. Haven't really measured anything else, was waiting for the 6 week mark.

My diet has been fairly clean w/ ~1700-1800cals/day, 20-30g/carbs, 110-120g/protein & fat varies depending on if I ate more chicken or red meat for the day.

Sample diet for me:
Breakfast: Bacon
10:00 Meal: Low Carb Protein Bar or Ham & Cheese
12:00 Meal: Hamburger w/ Cheese & Ranch or Steak or Chicken w/ grilled shrimp & brocolli
2:00 Meal: Low Carb Protein Bar
6:00 Meal: Post Workout Shake
8:00 Meal: Same as the 12:00 Meal

As of last week, the CKD thing & training is getting harder for me because my classes started (on Monday & Wednesday) so that nixes the gym on those days (I might have enough time for 1/2 hour cardio on Mondays but that's it). And my gym is closed on Sunday so my workouts are having to be planned on the other days - it sucks.

I ordered the Thermorexin like a dumbass w/o reading that it works better w/ carbs first. Now I am wondering if it is a waste to take on the CKD or if I should do some different kind of diet b/c of my school/work schedule conflicting so much w/ the gym.

Right now (after 2 days of pretty bad eating since my lil bro is visiting) - I am at:

5'6"
157lbs
38" Chest
35" Waist @ naval (w/o sucking in)
38" Hips
11.75" Biceps
19.5" Thighs
14" Calves

This is the first time in about 5-6wks that I have really cheated on my diet - mostly because my little brother is visiting and we have been @ amusement parks for 2 days. Anyway - my legs have not that much fat storage...its all in my stomach, w/ some in my arms/back (enough to cover the muscle).

When I started the CKD, 5-6 wks ago, I was measured @ the gym:

160lbs
39" Chest
12" Biceps
19" Thighs
14.75" Calves
38" Hips
34" Waist (but I think I was probably sucking in as I tend to do in public....)

I would suggest you try doing this:
1600 cal per day, 120 g fat and 140 g of protein, less then 20g carbs. Do that for 8 weeks minimal. It takes time to see results and sometimes 4 weeks is not enough. Overall, I think the way you diet really depends on your bodytype. In general, you will have to try different diets/food regimes before you get to the one right for you. I would highly recommend trying carb-cycling (see my manual) but with a ladies version of it – less calories and less training.

On a side note, TR does require some carbs, but not a huge amount. I usually suggest people take in 50g carbs per 100mg R-ala (G-R) – varies from person to person of course. TR has a minute amount of G-R so you should take in incremental carbs to cover the glucose disposal agent.

Thanks for all the advice X - I really appreciate it - esp when you are taking the trouble to respond while you are out of town.

A few more questions - no rush in the answer...

Because of my new school schedule that started last week, I can no longer work out on Monday or Wednesday, and my gym is closed on Sunday. (I may be able to get in 1/2 hour cardio on Mondays but it could be stretching it)..... how should I plan my workouts around this sucky schedule? Should I do cardio & lift the 4 days that I can actually train? Will this have an effect on the CKD since most say to "train large muscle groups early in the week," etc?

Also - I did order some Glucorell-R last week & it should be here Tues or Weds. I thought if I was going to have to eat some carbs for the T-rex to have any effect, then I should get the G-R as well. Should I not worry w/ this & still take the T-rex & >20g carbs or should I take in slightly more carbs w/ the G-R & T-rex?

just schedule your diet around the training, meaning, Monday is your carb-up, Tuesday you do a 1/2 body workout, Wed Off, Thur the other half, and Thur/Fri cardio if you can...just a little change in days

I would ONLY use the G-R on carb-up days, about 100mg w/ every meal (ballpark). You might drop into a hypoglycemic coma by using too much G-R w/ too little carbs; stay safe

Question for X -
For the carb cycling diet - would this still be a good idea if you can only work out in the evening? (Sticking w/ the suggested CKD but just a general question....)
